Dates & Deadlines (Spring 2025)

  • Information Sessions:

    • Wednesday, February 26th @ 6:30 PM via Zoom

  • Experiment Proposal Form (see bottom of page for more info):

    • Opens: Tuesday, February 18th

    • Deadline: Tuesday, March 4th

  • Volunteer Form (see bottom of page for more info):

    • Opens: Tuesday, February 18th

    • Deadline: Tuesday, March 4th

  • Volunteer & Experiment Leader Meeting: Thursday, April 3rd in the Miller Room

  • Day Before Volunteers: Friday, April 4th in Math 207

  • Girls’ Science Day: Saturday, April 5th

Volunteer Positions

*** Times are subject to change based on final schedule. ***

  • Morning Volunteers (~7:30 AM - 10 AM): Assist with checking girls in and set up our rooms at the start of GSD.

  • Experiment Leaders (Full day): Lead a ~40 min STEM experiment. The experiment will run twice, once in the AM and once in the PM session.

  • Group Leaders (Full day): Lead a group of girls to the different sessions; interact and engage with your group throughout the day.

  • End-of-Day Volunteers (~3 - 5 PM): Assist with checking girls out and clean up rooms at the end of GSD.

  • Day Before Volunteers: (~6 PM - 8 PM on the day before GSD): Assemble goodie bags, folders, and other materials for the event.

  • Photographer: (Full day): Photograph the event throughout the day.

  • Afternoon Leaders (~12 - 2:30 PM): Assist with running a lunchtime experiment.

  • If you would like to design and run your own experiment by volunteering as an Experiment Leader, in addition to the above form, fill out the Experiment Proposal Form

    • If you do not have an experiment prepared but would like to be matched with an existing Experiment Group, indicate this in the Volunteer Form instead—you can list a preference or we can place you in one.
